"What is the worse thing you have ever done?", as an early opening at the near start of this novel gives a "back of your mind" setting to the story that never really goes away. As much as I enjoyed this book, I feel if I was a mother to a son, or a son I would have felt more of a connection to this book. It amazed me what Jim remembered and how developed he was as a character, especially for only being 10. Definitely a good read!
