A. E. Hotchner's book Hemingway in Love puts an entirely new spin on Hemingway the man. Most of us know Hemingway as an arrogant drunk. This memoir brought tears to my eyes and made me quite sympathetic. If you have ever read any of Hemingway's stories, you may feel there are a lot of gaps . . . this memoir fills them all in. From a life of being in love with two women, a lifetime of regrets, a psychiatric ward, and a release for home this memoir was heartbreaking. Don't get me wrong there were some very heartwarming stories, and I enjoyed seeing young Hemingway in some added photographs throughout to. The struggles he had faced and the pains he went through I am not surprised he turned out how he did. If you read this book, keep an open mind and lose all opinions of him while reading, until the end. You will feel oh so differently about Papa. I promise.
