I never had to read this book in high school and quite frankly, I am glad. Not that I didn't like the book, just that I don't think I would have appreciated it as much if I had a lineup of homework to accompany. Reading it now, I appreciate thoroughly how Lois takes the reader into the future, and how the characters have created a community to shelter their civilians from the past. I felt sad for them because they have no memories of what was, just what is. When Jonas takes it upon himself to show the community straight, my heart stopped a few times. I cannot wait to read the rest of the novels that follow this book.

LIFE LESSONS

"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that."- Dumbledore

"It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."- Dumbledore

“To me, Fearless is not the absense of fear. It's not being completely unafraid. To me, Fearless is having fears. Fearless is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death.”
