Before I begin I must post a warning: **THIS IS NOT LIKE THE MOVIE** No magical creatures escape the muggle and wreak havoc, compromising the balance of magic and muggle worlds.
As Professor Dumbledore declared in the foreword that “no wizarding household is complete without a copy of this book.” Being a muggle born witch, I got myself a copy STAT at Flourish and Botts!
While reading this, I felt like I was back in a Hogwarts classroom, studying just about every beast known to witches and wizards. The beginning was a little troublesome to get through as it was mostly a history lesson of arguments had during the classifications. It was comical seeing what the magical world was like without order of species. I really enjoyed the alphabetical list of each beast, where they came from, and their M.O.M. Classification. I now know not to mess with a Dragon, and Hagrid has a death wish.
Having Harry Potter's duplicate textbook . . . I thoroughly enjoy the Hagrid references on what beasts he enjoys to nourish as "pets".
