Wheat Belly?

I am all for healthy eating, but this book was a little bias on the idea of being gluten free. Having friends who are celiac, even they will tell you NOT TO GO GLUTEN FREE. Although there are good points and there is scientific proof to follow, the author has weaknesses in his writing.

The clinical studies he cites deal with celiacs, and he uses them to build a case for non-celiacs. This does nothing to support his case. If you're not a celiac, your body is going to react to wheat differently. This is a flaw so well covered up, unless you are paying close attention it is easily missed.

I do agree that an over indulgence of wheat will cause you to gain extra weight, so my suggestion is MODERATION. It is the key to every food you eat. Being a nurse I have seen what can happen when people are under-educated on such subjects, and they usually end up ill.

If you have celiac disease, read this because it will give you a list of alternative options to shop for in a store. If not, put it down because wheat won't kill you in moderation.

“To me, Fearless is not the absense of fear. It's not being completely unafraid. To me, Fearless is having fears. Fearless is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death.”
