This was a lighthearted and youthful story. I appreciated it on so many different levels. It starts out so simple, a boy looking to fulfill his life desires. Don't we all want that? I appreciate how the boy never gives up, and does everything he can to find his Personal Legend. The boy takes on a life as a shepherd so he can travel, he then sacrifices his life as a shepherd to find his hidden treasure. I am not sure how many people would give up everything to fulfill their Personal Legend. It's just too risky and scary. Santiago's spiritual quest is filled with determination, and is heart warming. He takes on each hurtle one at a time. It is an inspiring novel, and motivating to taking on new challenges, to get to where you want to be in life. Everyone has a personal Legend, everyone has dreams and goals. It is faith and determination that will get us there, and I believe this book would help set a soul onto the path, of finding its Personal Legend.
